With The finding of Moses, Aly Mohsen interprets one of the most celebrated episodes of the Old Testament, situating it within a setting rich in historical and symbolic references. In the foreground, slightly set apart from the main action, appears Miriam, Moses’ sister, captured as she secretly observes the scene. Her presence introduces a deep emotional and psychological dimension: her vigilant and contained gaze reinforces the sense of waiting and awareness, linking the child’s fate to familial protection and the continuity of sacred history.

The composition unfolds across multiple perspectival planes, guiding the viewer’s eye from the intimacy of the foreground toward the expansive landscape beyond. Mohsen’s figurative painting demonstrates careful attention to anatomical rendering, bodily movement, and the balanced dialogue between light and color. The luminous palette—dominated by greens, blues, and the warm tones of Egyptian earth—achieves harmony between formal beauty and narrative intensity.

The work is completed by an original, finely crafted frame, which lends the painting a strong exhibition presence and a museum-quality character, reinforcing the monumentality and iconographic weight of the scene.
